Holly Redmond is the owner of One Earth Garden. Holly is a Cal Poly graduate with her B.S. in Environmental Horticulture Science with an emphasis in Integrated Pest Management and the study of plant interactions with insects, pathology, vertebrate animals and the environment.
She completed her training in permaculture design with well known teacher and permaculture designer Geoff Lawton and the Permaculture Research Institute USA.
Holly is a City of Santa Barbara Certified Green Gardener and a trained propagator of native plants through the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden - Garden Growers Training Program.
Prior to founding One Earth Garden, Holly served as a Horticulturist at The Ganna Walska Lotusland Foundation; she interned with Growing Solutions Restoration Education Institute and worked with Santa Barbara City College. She is currently working for the Santa Barbara County Parks Department.
Holly discovered her love for everything plants while volunteering for the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden's retail nursery. Following her passion led her to study with Jerry Sortomme, renowned local horticultural educator. Continuing her horticultural path, Holly was a groundskeeper for the Santa Barbara County Parks Department and also Santa Barbara City College.
Holly continually self educates on how to manage plant health in an organic and sustainable way so gardening can be safe, healthy, and rewarding for all the lives it touches.
